FRENCH & ITALIAN ALPS

 

The French Italian Border Region running from lake Geneva down to the Mediterean Coast is known for beeing home to some of the most spectacular mountains and passes in the Alps.

 

Every cyclist knows the most famous ones from the Tour de France or the Giro d’Italia. Besides this, the area has a huge history from past wars and conflicts between the two countries. Countless fortresses and old, rough military roads are found on both sides of the border. Combine tarmac and gravel and you’ll find yourself in a playground with unlimited possibilities.

Inspired by the Torino-Nice Rally we created our own bikepacking route through one of our favourite region in Europe. Be aware that most of the passes are only accessible during summer months.
